It has always been a joke that Jeff hates dogs. For some reason, the little ones always seem to yap at him and take his stuff. Scout for instance has personally eaten three of Jeff’s phones over the years. At the same time that Jeff says he hates dogs, he also has always said how badly he wants a dog. When he was little, his mom would make him walk a stuffed pound puppy around their street, in an effort to make Jeff not want one. It never worked and he has wanted one all his life. So, after a lot of discussion, he decided to buy me a dog for my Graduation present. We did a lot of Dog hunting, looking for the perfect Lab. Jeff was adamant about getting a Black, Male lab and I was adamant about getting a Yellow female. So, we met half way and got a Yellow male.

We got our pup in the beginning of May and it has been so fun. He is so dang cute and he absolutely LOVES Jeff. When he comes in I will ask him where Jeff is and he will Immediately start searching the house until he finds him. Then he will follow him everywhere he goes. The two have quite the bond!

Adam’s Birthday in Logan (April 2009)

We have always had a tradition to go up to Logan for birthdays. So for Adam’s we went up and had Café Rio, followed by a fun night of bowling. We ended the night at Adam, Christian and Josh’s house for Cake and the Jazz.

In November, we received a call from Mitch Spence about a Brazilian he had met down town at Temple Square. He said he seemed like a great guy and that he thought it would be great it we could call him up and spend some time with him since Jeff is part Brazilian. We quickly agreed and started hanging out with him immediately. He spent Christmas Eve with our family and was a joy to hang around. In January 2009, he wanted to find a better place to stay, because of the amount he was paying at the hotel. So, because of all of our extra space in our large house we decided to take him in. JK!!! The poor thing slept in our 4 ft. tall shelf basement!!!!! He stayed there from January to March and it was such a great thing for all of us.
In Portuguese, his nick name was “Ninho”. To me that sounded so odd, because in Spanish that means Child. So, I began calling him Child and he started calling me Mom. He and Jeff had a lot of fun together speaking Portuguese and playing soccer. They joined a killer indoor team, and had an amazing season winning no games!! Pretty funny! It worked out great, because “Child” loved watching chick flicks and eating sweets, so Jeff would go out and play basketball late at night, and we would stay home and do what we both enjoyed: watching chick flicks and eating sweets! It was great!
He was so kind while staying with us, the three of us really grew close, and it was sad to say good bye. Jeff and I look forward to our trip to Brazil when we will be put up by our Child!

Christmas 2008

On Christmas Eve, this year, we went with the Beck’s to see the Joseph Smith Movie and had lunch at the Joseph Smith Memorial. That night we went and slept at my parents. We went to the Midnight mass with Marcelino, Brett and Kylie. It was my first experience at a midnight mass and was quite enjoyable. The next morning we went out to the Becks to spend the rest of the day with them and to talk to Ryan and Brandon on their missions.

We had a great Christmas party at Dan and Marianne Kimball’s home with all of our closest friends from the Rugby team. We have loved getting together with this group and find every opportunity possible to do so.

After years of not having the guts, I finally went Dark!!! We were playing cards with the Whites and the Davis’s and I got a spontaneous whim to go dark, all inspired by Alex’s beautiful color in her hair. So, we ran to the grocery store around 11:00 pm and dyed my hair! It was probably one of the biggest highlights of 2008 for Jeff! Ask him for details on that.

The annual Ski-Sale trip to the Cabin (Nov. 2008)

This year for the ski sale was sure a memorable one. We went up on Thursday with Gareth and Jessica Long (before they were the Longs). We spent Friday going up to Stanley and Redfish. We had a great lunch by the river and spent some time in the best hot pot in the world, right off the Salmon river. We were thoroughly entertained by Gareth who felt the need to prove his manhood by crossing the freezing river. It was pretty hilarious!!

That night we were joined by Marlee, Adam, Christian, Gabe and Alec. It was a great trip filled with a lot of laughs, good food and Poker!

Going to see Wicked in L.A. (Oct. 2008)

For a little girls get-away, Robyn, Christy and I went to L.A. to see Wicked. It was a blast and Wicked far exceeded my expectations. We spent the afternoon having lunch with Alex and walking around Universal Studios. Then that evening we went to Dinner and went to see Wicked. We flew home the next day. It was a short, but awesome trip.

The night before we said good bye to wonderful Brando, Jeff took some time to go through and raid his closet. He took a lot of stuff, and I believe he has only worn a tenth of what he took. We miss Dig!!!!!

Labor Day at the Ranch in Flaming Gorge (2008)

We have figured out a system to avoid family time feuds. Memorial day is with my fam, and Labor day is with Jeff’s in Flaming Gorge. It is something we look forward to every year, to go take part in all the crazy games, from Shanghai to Croquet. It is absolutely beautiful up there!
One of the highlights of this trip was staying up into the wee hours of the night, having Emily pick all of our zits, while we all huddled around to see. Nasty, but sooooo entertaining!

When are those Ericksen's going to understand that they just can't beat us Beck's!!

We went up to the condo for the 4th of July and had a wonderful time. We went with all of my family and the Parks. Jeff’s family was also up there for part of it.
The fireworks on the 3rd of July are awesome to watch up there. They have them right across the street from the condo. Talk about up close and personal! It’s amazing. On the 4th we went to Park City Park to see the fireworks and played a lot of weird body games while we were there.

We're having a baby!!!!!! (2008)

For some reason, every month after we were married I thought that I was pregnant. I don't know why I was so paranoid about it but I was. We were not in a position to have a baby, and the thought of it freaked Jeff out quite a bit. So, I decided to play on his emotions and created a pretty great April Fool's trick.

I worked at Meridian at the time and there was a girl working there who was pregnant. So, I took a water bottle to work and asked her to go to the bathroom in it so I could borrow her urine. For about two or three days before April Fool's I kept telling Jeff that I felt weird and I didn't know what was wrong with me. I acted like I was a couple days late and kept saying little things to Jeff about it. He kept telling me that I should just go get a pregnancy test, and I would just act like I was scared to. Finally I went and bought two pregnancy tests. He sat on the bed while I went in and took one. I had previously hidden the bottle of urine in our bathroom closet, so I pulled it out and poured it over the stick. Then I made him come in and look at it with me. When he saw the positive sign he went silent and just walked into the bedroom and sat on the bed with a blank stare on his face. He was terrified!!! I walked in and said, "aren't you going to give me a hug?"

After that I said I would go make sure and take the second one, and that one I took normal. I then showed him the negative and said, "April Fools!!!". The look of relief on his face saved me from any wrath. I scared him terribly!!! It was great!

Wedding Bells

Our wedding was a FREEZING, beautiful January day. We both wish we would have just risked the backyard wedding and waited 6 months for nicer weather, but what can you do. We clearly didn't have the patience, and that same lack of patience was displayed in the way things played out throughout our wedding day!

It was a wonderful day, starting with an amazing sealing performed by President Zwick. After the sealing we took a lot of pictures outside the temple, then left for a quick break at our hotel before the wedding reception. The wedding reception was at the Wells Fargo building. We chose that location due to the massive amount of people that our parents know. There was not another place that would have been big enough. It was an awesome night, and it was fun to see so many wonderful people who came to support us.

The following day we took off on our honeymoon to the North Shore on Oahu. We had a wonderful time, but did not take any pictures!!!! We are horrible! Big regret in our lives. But, we had a great time with a lot of exciting adventures.

Making the BIG decision (2007)

Jeff and I actually decided we wanted to get married at our beloved annual Ski Sale trip in Sun Valley, Idaho. It seemed Jeff and I had both gotten our answer that we were ready to tie the knot, so we went ahead and confirmed our feelings about it with one another. But, we didn't make things official until about a month later in Jeff's second home, Rio.

We were in Brazil for Thanksgiving with Jeff's family, and one of the days Brandon, Jeff and I took a trip up to Sugar Loaf, in Rio, to see the view. The day had gotten pretty packed and the family was rushing to make sure that we were able to go, so I could see the view from Sugar Loaf. We rode a tram that took us to the top and started wandering around. Jeff managed to find a semi excluded spot and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I was totally oblivious to the situation and had no clue that was the plan in going up there. It was awesome! I could not have chosen a better place to be proposed to!

The best part of the whole experience was our wonderful photographer. The family had sent Brandon along to take pictures of the event. It was great to have him along and it was great to get pics.

The blog begins!

Both Jeff and I are new to the blogging thing, but we are excited to get started. We have decided to use this as our blog/journal, so we can start to document everything that is going on in our lives (because we are pretty bad at keep our own journals).

So, I am actually going to back track, and start at the beginning of our adventure together. Well, I wont go that far back, because Jeff and I actually started dating in 2001, and a lot has happened in those 8 years. I am just going to begin with our engagement/wedding and go from there.
